x2 on the pleather pads. I have to say, I've been seeing more and more people with HD25s on the streets of NYC and it makes me feel all fuzzy and warm inside. Nice to know people are recognizing some good headphones.

If I plan on keeping these 'phones I might remove the Adidas logos :p

edit: I'm not a fan of the sibilance on these.. :frowning2: Does it get better? Or is it just a characteristic of these 'phones. I'm contemplating on selling these.

Hi

Well for once managed to snag a bargain.  Iheadphones were selling a blemished box of the adidas (the box had a very very small nick on the right corner!) for £149 with next day delivery.  Not done much extensive listening except that I think I like these more than the bw p5's particularly for prog/rock, time will tell though.

Cheers

I love the look of the Adidas Originals. I might get them, but are the HD25-1 II headphones really as good as they are advertised? I heard they've been out for like 15 years, hard to believe they're still at the top in their category.

And is it possible to find Adidas Originals brand new for less thatn $250?

Well, that depends... Sure, they don't exist in vacuum no more with V-Moda and Beyer going strong but for less than 200$ they still offer good sound. Especially with some units turning up used for less than 150$. It is true that a 50$ Superlux HD668b outresolves them by a fair margin but I find the HD25 to be far better voiced for rock and other more aggressive genres.

Try to audition them. If you like the signature then they are a great buy.

get HD25 few weeks...like the sound.it aggressive, forward, well in separation, detail, good in bass, easy to drive.

but no one is perfect. just how much you spend, how much you get.
