Im thinking about selling my 595s for a pair of 600s, I prefer them over the 650s. Is the difference worth the difference? I'll be running them apx -> gilmour Lite

Suggetions will make me

I bought the HD 650 and I thought they were on a completely different level compared to HD 595. HD 595 is still better with DVD, games and certain very bright sounding recordings but I use excluively HD 650 together with SR-60 for my music now.

For me, the difference was worth it

I completely agree... the 600s, which I also like more then the 650s, are certainly more open, airy, and laidback then the more in your face 595s...

I have to agree that it's more a difference in style than in quality. If I listened to primarily classical and only some rock, then I'd go to the 600s or 650s in a heartbeat. But I'm the other way around--I listen to mostly rock/techno with some classical, so I went 595s.

the hd595 and hd600 are completely two different creatures. No one is superior to each other unless you think smoothier , more seducive vocal is an improvement

I've had them both and much prefer the 600 over the 595. It's very much a matter of personal preference. I loved the 595s but liked the 600s even more. So much so that I bought the 650s but still prefer the 600s.

Indeed, Im still pondering the thought, I do listen to mostly rock and trance, but I really liked the 600s I extensivly listened to at the boston meet

I would never change 595 to 600. I know that I should listen them again but the first impression says that 595 > 600 (to me of course). Oh and I've owned 595 but only tested 600. 650 is best.

I definitely prefer the 600 to the 595. The 600 is colder, has more impact believe it or not, has a more coherent sound without any grain, and more lushness in the midrange. The 595 is more upfront, has better bass resolution (the 600 has overly liquid bass but it sure does kick), and is warmer. I'd recommend the 595 for rock over the 600, and of course if your amp can't hack the 600, then it's an easy choice in favor of the 595. For classical and electronic music, and especially trance, I'd recomment the 600. It's really awesome for psytrance! Strong, kicking bass, sharp, detailed treble but not all that fatiguing, and a great, coherent soundstage make well-recorded psytrance a real trip.

I have both. I use the 650s for most music and the 595s for DVDs and games and some music. To me, they are totatlly different. The 650s are "better" I suppose if you have to pick one. But I wouldn't say that the 650 is better in every regard, just overall.
But, if I had to pick just one to keep, I'm not sure which it would be. Sorry.

The attractive thing of hd600 is the vocal and the darkness but what makes me stay away from this can is bass and laidback sound. Sometimes the bass in hd600 is too much , bloated for my taste.

You haven't told us what you don't like about the 595. Or did I miss it?

I've owned both 600 and 595. Give me the 595 any day. Just a much more natural, open, dynamic sound--and I'm a classical fan, so don't let them tell you it's only for rock. I've owned just about ever Senn up to, but not including, the 650, and for me the 595 is easily the all around best except in comfort; I find it a bit head-crushing. But hey, I'm a fathead!
