HD 580 Appreciation Thread - Dinosaur or Timeless Classic

Anyone else hanging on to their 580s. They were state of the art for years and years and years without modification by Sennheiser. Yes, I know the virtues etc. of the 650s and I typically use the AKG 701 with balanced inputs on my home rig, but I can't get rid of the 580s. I still use them all the time. Like I said, dinosaur or timeless classic? Let me guess...both.

I think they are going to be a timeless classic. Even now, people are looking for them. I can't get rid of mine either. Love of good equipment will be my undoing!

why not, since it also could be used with the 600/650. plus, not all balanced cables are expensive. a retermination of the stock cable to xlr is the most economical.
