Picked up an HD 25 yesterday and love the sound. I mostly listen to rock, and these sound fantastic imo. If I wanted a big brother to this set of cans, what would you recommend? I'd like to keep the same basic sound signature, but expand upon it. Something with more space, depth, width, etc. Preferably a little more airy and open with a better Soundstage. I'm okay with open or closed, but would prefer to keep it under 300 bucks, new or used. I also have the M-Audio Q40 which imo also sounds great with rock. I just wish it wasn't so closed in sounding. When I say big brother, I don't mean it has to be in the Sennheiser family. I went to Guitar Center yesterday and was able to demo several headphones including the Ath M50x and 40x, Yamaha hph-mt5, Akg 240 and V moda crossfade m100. I preferred the sound of the HD 25 with the Yamaha hph-mt5 coming in 2nd. I also have the Meze 99 neo in route. Should be here Monday. I have to say, headphones are quite addicting. Too many cans and not enough money or places to demo them.
