HD 25-1 II, how does it sound unamped?

++ I completely agree that HD650 cable actually degrades sound quality of HD25s.

wow, i thought i was crazy when i preferred the stock steel cable to the HD 650 cable...glad to see im not alone.

So you guys use the stock cable?

Yes, I'm back using the stock cable now. I started out using a custom made mogami cable, but recently put the stock cable back on and I didn't really hear any differences in sound quality anymore that made it legitimate to me to use my custom made cable.
I also use the HD25 primarily for portable purposes which is so much more convenient with the stock cable.
