I want to buy my wife a portable MP3 player for xmas.  She isn't as a demanding listener as me and will mainly be listening to it via car speakers and a portable boom box.  I am looking to spend no more than $125 or so, and would prefer $100.  As big of capacity as possible, likely flash based. I am willing to buy a separate card if needed.  It should be easy to load music on.  Of course, better sound quality is preferred over lesser sound quality, but again, considering her listening habits, it isn't the biggest concern.

I'd appreciate any help, and if you need more info, I'd be glad to oblige.

I recommend doing some searches on the Sansa players, like the clip+ and zip. They'll be more than sufficient for your application. Also some searches on the Rockbox firmware that can be installed on them.
