Have you ever hated a headphone brand from start to finish?

Have you ever disliked a headphone brand so much that you did not care for any model they produced from their lowest end to their highest?

I feel this way about Audio Technicas though my opinion is not 100 % valid as I have not heard anything above the W5000.

I also am not too big on shure IEMs.

While I certainly don't dislike the RS1's or RS2's and I think the SR60s are a good value, I feel Grado is a supremely overrated brand. I think their headphones offer hardly any soundstage, an overemphasized treble, and are awfully uncomfortable for extended listening and not too attractive.

Anyone else have an aversion to a headphone brand

I'm pretty sure I will never buy a Skullcandy in my life, especially the ones with the bullets on them..

I haven't yet heard a Sennheiser phone that I actually liked.

But to be fair, I haven't heard all of their models, nor is it likely that I ever will.

Yeah. I definitely hate every pair of Skullcandy headphones. I have not heard EVERY one, but I have heard a considerable amount of them. I also have not like the couple pairs of etys I have have tried.

Yes, Grado. Excruciatingly uncomfortable and tonal balance unsuitable for classical, jazz or indeed any kind of music requiring subtlety or fidelity.

What Audio Technicas have you tried? The Air series or Art series (closed)?

AT 'phone's strength lies in its open series, especially AD700 and up. Maybe you should give them a try if you have the chance.

almost every brand has a can for everyone. althought im not sure ive ever heard a good can by sony, im not really sure its fair to judge a company that really isnt trying to market to the hifi industry, more the low fi lol.

I don't hate any headphone brand, but the brand that I've been the least pleased with has been AKG. Even the K1000 was a little blah.

Nice. Lots of Ultrasone hate for no reason. I also find total dislike of Audio Technicas, since Air and Art series are fairly different in their delivery.. and AT strength lies in the closed series actually - the evil out of production models that top out at L3000. Grado covers so many different sound signatures, disliking them would go along with disliking just about everything save Sennheisers (RS-1, GS-1000, PS-1, HP-1/2/3). Also today I heard a Sennheiser sound as bright and forward as a Grado.
