I know this is a very extreme case (and media manipulated), but even here people whine about parents not buying them a second pair of $300 phones they really really want. I know I'm gonna come off looking old, but have there always been young people who feel this entitled, or is this new (in existence, percentage or in scope), possibly because of our material comfort? Did kids complain in the past when their parents bought the wrong horse and buggy? Certainly the complaints of older people against the young, and their ease of life, is far from new, but then again marketers have invented the term Twixters for what they consider a new, somewhat related to this issue, demographic.

Or have fun and just watch the video for laughs.

"My Sweet Sixteen" is an extreme example, but yes there always have been and always will be spoiled kids, down to the first caveboy who got first pick of the liver.

Imagine if my parents bought me a lexus when I turned 16?

Out of respect for human life, I hesitate to say that she should be shot, but let's just say that I have 0 respect for her.

i'd just like to show you all the Hyundai Excel Gen1 hatchback i used in high school- except mine was Red (handmedown from my sis, who wanted red 'cause it was cute)

Keep in mind I was still very grateful - it was a car, and that meant freedom. And I didn't pay for it after all (although i did pay for gas and maintenance, etc)

If she were my daughter, she wouldn't have gotten a Lexus in the first place.

Hell, she wouldn't have gotten a Kia.

By the way when I was 16, I thought my Excel was the baddest lil mofo on the road. We went through some fun times together, and it never let me down. How sad that the lil gal in the OP looked at the Lexus and didn't even care - but hey, those are the breaks.

Team Excel! I saved up birthday and later job money from ages 10 to 17 to buy a red '86 Hyundai Excel hatchback sedan. Those were the days.

Yes. Give any kid privilege and no discipline and they'd all be pretty much like that.

Team Excel FTW! That was my first car too, mine was a dark grey sedan style, hand me down from big sis. Total POS, but I sure as hell appreciated I had my own wheels. Later on my sister totaled it when she was in town from college, RIP Clyde.
