Has anyone listened to both the Sony CD900ST and CharterOak SP-1/GMP 450pro?

Reviews are similar in that they are both supposed to have a glorious and detailed vocals/midrange with proper amplification but reviews are scarce as they are both a bit obscure and I've never seen them compared.

Thanks,

I've never heard the Sony.

I've heard the GMP 450 Pro and it indeed seemed to me to have a prominent midrange.
But the last reviews I've read about it describe it more as a slightly v-shaped headphone, more like what I vaguely remember the MBquart QP 450 Pro to sound.
There's one spanish review that just came out and describes it that way...
So it's possible that German Maestro has tweaked the sound recently.

So I think your dilemma should be between the Sony and the Charteroak which is probably a slightly modified QP 450 Pro.

And yes, the Charteroak/GMP/QP will gladly take good amplification.

Hope this helps.
