there are many talented diy-ers on this board. these guys build their own often complicated amps, tuberoll, and tweak and mod their headphones. i'm wondering if anyone has tried to build their own headphones? there must be a source for driverless headphone housings, and a way to get drivers (even if it means cannibalizing another pair). i know there are those who build their own cables... so has anyone tried to build the perfect headphone from the ground up?

setmenu has been working on his own phones for quite some time now. Do a search on his moniker.

thanks jeff and rick. they both look like interesting projects. maybe someday we'll see a diy headphone with the popularity of the meta43 or cha47 amp?
