This mod is based on the concept that having more air behind a driver will give the driver more bass.  I'm not an audiophile and for the most part, everything about the sound signature stays the same except that the quantity of bass is at least doubled.  The bass is just as tight, just more apparent and creates more "pressure".  Half of the mod is reversible.
Warning-I can't guarantee that nothing adverse occurs to the sound signature as I honestly can't tell.  Also, any isolation this thing had before is destroyed by this mod.
This mod assumes that you know how to take the harx apart and have access to a drill and drill bits.

After opening the headphones, you will notice a piece of white tape covering up two of the four holes on the driver.  Remove the tape (this is completely reversible if needed).  This allows twice as much air for the driver.

The next part of the mod requires drilling holes and creates the largest apparent change in bass quantity.  Since these headphones are essentially sealed, doing the above mod will have a very small effect on the bass quantity.  The holes that are made are completely covered due to the clever construction of the headphones (explained later).
First, take the other half of the casing and locate the 3 hinges.  1 is crudely circled above.  Push these in and attempt to the remove the back shell of the casing.

This should be the result. The dampening is required to reduce resonance.

Here is how I drilled the holes. The hole in the center was experimental and is not necessary.  Just drill the bigger hole which is approximately 1.5cm in diameter.  You'll need drill bits.  Please start off with a small drill bit to drill the initial hole and then widen with larger drill bits.  As you can tell by now, these holes are covered when the shell is placed back on.  Remember to center the dampening correctly when placing the shell back on.
Forgive the low resolution images and lack of focus.
Hopefully, someone who has sensitive ears attempts this mod and can tell me if anything else changes.

I've demoed the XB500 quite a bit.  I like them a good deal and they certainly have more bass than the harx even after mods.  The harx mids and highs are as great as ever, especially after a felt mod.  I do like the Harx more because it has a blacker background.  What i mean is that everything is more separated, as if there is this dark noiseless space between each instrument playing as opposed to the XB500 which always always has this sub bass filling it in.  However, the XB500 seem like the better choice for listening out of home in comparison to the Harx.  Both are technically bad in this respect though.  You should be happy with the XB500, both are about the same, just depends on your preferences.  Bass and comfort vs separation and maybe slightly better mids and highs.
