"Kids and Grownups Love Them So,/ The Happy World of Haribo"

- It took about a year after I began to reexperience stomach ulcers and abdominal pain to ween myself off two handfuls of Haribo Gummi Bears eaten immediately before sleeping (often in bed). I used to brag that they were necessary in order to ensure vivid dreams. Having said that, there's something poignant, quite beautiful about watching your girlfriend get out of bed in the morning with a glistening strawberry gummi stuck to her back. Heehee.

It's a German company, but their product lineup is tailored for what's popular in each country. Their most popular products in France are distinctly chemical-smelling strawberries and soft jellybeans.

I'm not very fond of the raspberries, but the peaches are not so bad. Nowhere near as good as Japanese "Kasugai peach gummy", however.

Hi Billy,

Haribo does indeed make delectable treats, my husband is addicted to their peaches and I love thier licorice. However we both have been forbidden these treats by our dentist.

I had a bag of the raspberry when i was in Cancun - after snorkeling, it was a nice gummy refresher to get that ocean taste out of the mouth! Funny how I still have that memory, thanks for the walk down that lane.

The original line is ,,Haribo macht Kinder froh under Erwachsen eben so" (literally, Haribo makes kids happy and adults just as well. The version you see now just has a better jingle to it). I am German. I remember these candies vividly. In fact I have about 5 bags of Happy Cola downstairs. Hehe. My favorite is the sour cola which is quite hard to find in the states.

I always get a bag when Im standing in line to pay at Fry's. If I purchase nothing else that day... I always walk out with a bag of happy cola bottles.

SOUR cola? Thares a SOUR one??... Ooh that sounds interesting.

This reminds me of the "Cinnamon Bopka" Seinfeld episode...
