As of now the only pair of headphones i have are sennheiser 595s. they sound great with acoustic guitar so when im listening to simon and garfunkel or other things of that sort. but i also like listening to hardcore music i.e atreyu, underoath, all that remains, scary kids scaring kids, i could go on and on. i was wondering since the headphone buying guide didnt specify. what would be good heaphones for hardcore music (handling screaming and the guitars and such)?

my budget for these id say like 200-300. prefereably more towards the 2 hahaha. but if you have suggestions for each price range like the buyers guide thread, that would also be highly appreciated.

please n thank ya.

hahaha. those do look quite hardcore. though like most skullcandys, probably uncomfortable and bad performance. basically a rule of thumb i follow in headphones is...

never. ever. get. skullcandys.

do you like bassy headphones? or something that has relative little bass?

Also, do you want to use them as portable 'phones? or at home?

well i consider all headphones portable haha. ill take my 595s to school when i feel like it. but nah, more for like the home use style headphones. dont really need smallins or earbuds. and ill prorbably get an amp at some point.

btw, how do the grados do with tube amps? i heard 595s are really good with them, but idk if grados are better with solid state ones or w/e

Depends on what tube amps- my Bada PH-12 doesn't like low impedance 'phones but I like my Millet Hybrid with them.

Any Grado, except for maybe the woodies.

Metal never sounded better to me than through my SR80s, and if what I hear is true can only get better as you climb the latter a bit.
