Hi all,

I found this site in the NY Times this morning. It appears this is where I am encouraged to say hello. What a great wealth of knowledge I see available on the site. My main use of headphones is for editing live music. While hearing music through speakers is a plus, I find more nuance through headphones at least for what I am trying to accomplish. I have not invested in a very expensive pair of headphones, and am always looking for a good bargain. My toughest challenge is finding accurate bass in lower priced headphones. I often feel like I have to translate what I am hearing to what is really on the recording through my repeated use of headphones followed by repeated use of a variety different speaker sets in my daily life (Home Car Work, Computer etc.). I do a lot of listening in my car, because I spend a lot of time in my car...

I have a pretty good pair of Shure earbuds, but that is more for listening and I have not really embraced earbuds for music editing. It just seems the bass in that realm is variable by the seal I get and the tips I am using.

Anyway, I am impressed with the site. I won't kid you I am sure I have much to learn in this area of sound reproduction. I look forward to perhaps contributing eventually. Thanks for having me!
