HAPPY BIRTHDAY Have a great year. And for your birthday you get a solid gold PX200 Plus 2 small ear adapters so your whole ear including the ear lobs will fit inside the gold PX200

Aww, thanks Lou. I went to the country, the Turku archipelego to visit my husband's side of the family (my side is in SC), so I didn't see this until now.

And I'd just like to say, in my acceptance speech, that Sennheiser has upped the quality standard in small portable headphones. People will get them for the looks, but they'll be surprised by the sound. Good sound for the masses!

As for those ear mods, I'm waiting for the HD850's. They fold to the size of the px200s, are closed with an open sound, the ear peice magically folds into something that fits around the ear, it has a built-in amp on the cord, and it sounds like the Orpheus.

Can I borrow them when you're done with 'em?

Actually, I daresay you could probably manage at least the last three points - Kevin Gilmore's portable electrostatic amp could probably be minaturized to the size of a cigarette pack, and the Orpheus headphones themselves are circumaural and sound like Orpheus headphones...

(come to think of it, it's quite easy to remove the drivers from the headband - they just snap right off - so you could probably even get folding capability if you DIY-ed a headband... sure, they'd still be pretty big [those drivers are HUGE] but hey... And I belive they're fairly good at sound isolation [I guess this is with music playing - they aren't really isolating with music off; my amp isn't done so I couldn't really say how they sound with music ON] , and due to the fact that the electrostatic membrane covers the entire area, they're technically closed headphones in that no air can escape from the chamber that's formed by the ear and driver)

I forgot to add, the phones would be injected with Beyerdynamic Love (tm).

Imagine the horror on the faces of the headphone salesman as I pick up the Orpheus with pliers in-hand.

I wonder if that day will ever come, that we will get that kind of quality in a portable package. Ahh, to dream...

Happy birthday to one of our few female visitors we have here. It's great to read your posts and hear about your love of Beyer's stuff. I hope you do get to visit your family again soon. I know what that's like, and how nice it is to visit family when you get the chance.

Thanks! I've also noticed a sad lack of females here. We have ears too! When I told mom about this forum, she reminded me that I've always been into headphones. I was forever searching for a better sound...at the time, way back when, I just didn't know where to look.

Actually the Tungsten was a Christmas present.
