Dad went out to just get a set of headphones "were a good price, were closed, and folded" and he ended up getting the Philips HP550!! WITHOUT MY ADVICE!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

*counts his headphones*

Grado SR-60, Koss KSC-50, Koss KSC-35, Sony MDR-EX70's being shipped, Philips HP550, Beyerdynamic DT-831.

Hmmm. The Philips don't block out much outside noise, though...

But!! The fact that he made a good headphone purchase without me!!!! YEA!!!!

That's because the Sony CD180's have small 30mm drivers (the same size drivers as many Walkman headphones) in a big, bulky shell. No wonder why I said the name of the title of this post.

the only other headphones *DAD* has bought are some crappy vertical in ear ones, and some replacement ones every so often, and, before i got into this, he bought me a set of "quality" sony cans...

silly.

If you don't mind me asking, how were you able to get the chance to buy the Sony 3000's for $295? Most places I have seen have them for $399 or so. I noticed that you included "won" in your sentence, so I guess it was an auction of some type, but still, that is a great price. Sorry your parents weren't cool with it.

I just wanted to know, because I was going to get the HD600's since I could find them for $220 shipped, however, I would have liked the possibility to get the Sony's though.
