Gustard X20 DAC

official website by SU-1? Is there an email address available?
Here's a link http://www.singxer.com/pd.jsp?id=19 Good luck. I know they paid for this driver, the Halo is 4.11 this is 4.36 so a newer version of the driver. As mentioned I think the noise we hear comes from the dac and the 9018 chips, I no longer own a gustard, so i can't play around and try new things. I got addicted to 512 and when my USB/I2S card failed there, at the time, was no other way to get 512 so I found a good deal on a T+A Dac8DSD and that is my dac. I'd ask on the X20 pro thread if they get any white noise when the X20pro starts to play. In my experience after modding the SU-1 I brought it over to a friends in Knoxville who has the x20 and we connected it and had 10-15 seconds of white noise and then nothing but music after that.

the driver by Singxer (is it really by Singxer?) v4.36
It's my understanding that the driver is from Theyscon and Singer paid the fee to them to use this driver. I remember reading back in the day manufactures and some forum members saying ESS never claims the 9018 supports 512. DIYinHK told me 9018 won't do 512 then I got it to work and for the most part I was really happy with the sound, I got addicted to it. The driver they used for the card was a signed Theyscon 3.38. Sometimes I could go multiple evenings with 0 white noise bursts. I use Roon, HQ Player and tidal so the music I streamed was mostly AIFF (my HDD) or Flac (Tidal) 16/44.1.

Your description that ESS9018 might the be a weak link in this issue somewhat makes sense to me because I found that SMSL M8A ES9028Q2M can do DSD512 without any issue at all.

My X20U which has approx. 75% of the Ric Schultz initial mods sounds great w/ HQPlayer playing DSD256. But when Quadman brought his custom PC w/ Ryzen chip & modded Singerx SU-1 & connected to my X20U, I was able to experience DSD512. Other than the initial white noise, it was a marked improvement & sounded fantastic!

@rafabro, in my system the asio buffer size is at top (32758).

@Quadman, thanks for that link. But if the issue depends on the Gustard, is anyone able to contact successfully that company? As mentioned, I never received answers from those persons...

Holo Audio driver was prepared for Holo Audio DACs. It is just based on same XMOS USB interface.
That time was no alternative from Singxer or Gustard. And Holo released driver first so some of us decided to use it.

Is no need to use it anymore since Singxer provided newer driver.

Yes, there is - at least for me. Please read what I wrote on post #1259, at the previous page, 84.

As far the latest driver by Holo, I think that Shenzhenaudio could provide for it, If we send a request.

Bye

I have..try uninstall device first, switch off, install new drivers and then switch on back again. Reboots in meantime.

New driver works perfect.

I'm unable to find that version. Link, please?
Go the Shenzhenaudio.com, at the top look for the downloads link, click it then Halo, then spring click the select the windows version for you and download. I was mistaken the driver is V3.40. Singer released a temporary driver 4.11 before the final paid 4.36 released. Shenzhen does not show 4.11 on the site anymore, but they do have a driver from 12/2106 which can only play DSD256 you could try. Just click singxer from the download link.

Gustard Audio seems to have a page on facebook, so I tried to place a message there (now it's under review). Let's stay to see if they will publish it with an answer...
