Hi guys - I'm just mainly looking for advice, specifically for a guitar player only using IEMS in a live setting. I won't be listening to mp3s etc very much through the ears.

I am taking the plunge on the 1964 ears and plan on keeping these for several years. I had planned on the quads but after doing research I'm not so sure that I would be the best fit for me, as a guitar player. Does anyone have experience with them as a guitar player? I'm just concearned about having too much bass etc... And too much "color" to the mix. At the same time I may really enjoy that as long I can really hear myself cut through out front.

Just any input would be great and helpful,

Thanks!

I'm sure if you were to send them an e-mail, they would recommend the triple over the quad; they do lots of musicians, and Vit has worked in the industry for a good while.
Taken straight from their website:
1964-T Triple Driver Custom IEM
The triple driver was designed for a full spectrum sound with a slight emphasis on the bass region. Its the most natural sounding IEM without being sterile and boring. This model is recommended for stage use, studio and portable music listening.

1964-Q Quad Driver Custom IEM

Our quad driver is the flagship model that was developed with bass lovers in mind. It reaches to the lowest of lows while still keeping the mids and the highs crisp and clear. With four balanced armature drivers per ear, their sound signature is sure to please drummers, bass players and the like.
