I have a Line 6 Guitar port that offers a line out (composite RCA) and I would like to try a nice set of cans for guitar. I will be using a Diamond PPA to drive them.

My 650s sound good my girl doesnt like the open air deal at night...

So, closed cans would be perfect with a good bass response. I was thinking maybe V-6s?

i'd avoid the v6, no midrange, where most of the guitar noise sits.

I would recommend the akg 271s, especially if you have a bass boost on that ppa. The way these headphones emphasize the electric guitar sound is my favorite part of their presentation. The low, low bass is a little lacking, but I doubt you would play that low on your guitar, plus a bass boost would completely resolve this issue.

I used my ATH-A500s out from my Marshall combo amp and in Drop D w/ distortion the bass was superb. Chunky riffs were really heard...for $99 they are an awesome closed can for guitar playing.
