GS Audio Impressions Thread

Were you able to burn this set in before needing to head out for your trip? I found that the DD they used really needs some play time to open up properly, though I definitely agree that even after burn-in, the bass performance does trend a bit leaner than I would necessarily prefer.
Zero burn in. I will report back if I find something new to mention.

Alright. The bass response on the graph already looks pretty good for zero burn-in, so hopefully it only gets better. Most people say that the electret drivers benefit from around 100 hours of burn, and the DD that GS uses, in my case, needed about 12 to change noticeably and about 30 hours before they seemed ready to go.

Switched to more musical source: M8 (AKM ak4499EQ) from the E1DA 9038S (ESS ES9038Q2M) and SE11 sounds even more pleasing now. Build quality and isolation is quite good as well.. not as tight as the Spark but slightly better than Thie Monarch. I don’t see any vents on a shell, but pressure buildup is negligible barring a slight driver flex on my right side unit.

Now I am contemplating whether to grab the SE12 or not..

What cable are you using? Kinda looks like the ISN solar. Do you experience a noticeable difference in sound quality from the stock cable?

I would expect so, if only from upgrading to balanced.

Yes, it is the ISN Solar. Stock cable was 3.5 and solar is balanced so I can’t tell you how they differ in SQ.

That's quite the beast of a cable you paired it with.

I'm curious, what would you be expecting with the SE12? Looking at GS Audio's graphs, a bit more mid-bass?
Thanks for taking the plunge with the SE11. Thankfully, it looks like a very well done tribrid judging from your early evaluation.
The average treble extension is a bit disappointing IMO, it's what I'd be looking for in an expensive IEM.

Directly quoting GS Audio reps response regarding my query about the SE11 vs SE12:

“SE12 have better high frequency and ultra high frequency sound, more details and better sound stages, ductility and transient expression”

Don’t get me wrong, I am super happy with the SE11 and how it suits my musical taste. I was just curious about the SE12’s sound signature after SE11 exceeding my expectations.

SE12 ordered.

I just sold the Aroma Audio W6.2 and it freed up some funds, but yeah I am a bit crazy like that.
Did you graph the W6.2 before you sold them? What did you think of them?

That sounds like something I'd like! ... for a future higher end IEM purchase.
Thanks!

Haha sorry I am frantically getting ready for my trip. Super busy weekend and I don’t want to miss my ferry.

I listened to it briefly and I can tell you it might crack into my top 3. Balanced and very detailed sound with awesome staging in all axis is what I can tell you for now.
Wow! Good enough impression😳 LF comparison with W6.2 too
