Specifically, we're talkin' Jazz here. I owned a pair of v.1 Screened DarthBeyers for about 2 years, so I know what they're about (now have 2x closed v.3 Darthbeyers). A friend in Europe recently sold his modded k340 in favor of GS-1000 and puts them right close up with his k1000 and his now belated k340. But, he hasn't had any DarthBeyers - so there is no cross-reference for me. Does anyone here have both, or has recently had both GS-1000 AND Screened DarthBeyers. You see, I'm thinking it's about time to either replace ye ol' Screened pair with v.3's or venture into GS-1000-land.

Thanks for asking this question. I, too, wish I had the answer.

I have Darth version 2.

No matter what you do, you still have a DT770 on steroid. No where near GS1000.

Someone might correct me if they'd found a better design for the DT770.

You're missing the point. We know our Screened DarthBeyers, but don't really know how the Grado GS1000 stack up directly against them.

I wish I could help, but why don't you plan a visit to some Grado dealer and listen them side by side. I think you can take your amp with you as well.

That's what I did and didn't like them at all, Grado GS1k I mean. I listened them with Musical Fidelity X3 stock version, so do not even try. But after trying them with my amp, I change my mind completely. So, take you amp with you, if it is possible of course.

Otherwise, you are welcome in my home
