Greetings guys and gals,
30+ year audiophile here, who has toyed with headphone listening off and on the whole time. I keep coming back to the fact that headphone listening for me, is always done at the office.
For practical reasons, IEM's are the best solution, and my music streams from my phone.
I recently had a HTC M8, which as a music-based phone, was amazing. Then due to service issues, I was forced to switch to a more reliable carrier with a poorer selection of phones.
I now am using a Samsung Galaxy S5, which is a great smartphone, but has lousy sound quality. So I took the plunge and ordered an Oppo HA2 a few weeks ago.
For IEM I'm using cheap-but-outstanding Skullcandy Titans (original version). After several days of break-in, I felt the Oppo to be flat-out amazing. Resolution in spades, and an incredibly neutral sound. In short, addicting.
Then, clicking on every track, followed by no sound at all, caused me to have to return the unit. So, here's my question.
Have any of you done head-to-head between the Oppo HA2 and the Fiio E17K? At less than half the price, I'm seriously considering the E17K as a replacement.
My listening is probably %60 Classical, %20 Soundtracks and ambient, and %20 Pop/rock/jazz.
Thanks in advance!
