Hello, been a lurker for awhile now and have learned quit a bit (or I should say becoming aware of so much that I don't know) but need some additional help. I'd classify myself as a gamer primarily but also listen to everything from violin concertos, Steely Dan to Viking Metal when not gaming. Precise imaging and sound stage is very important to me but I would like to see if I can take it up a notch or more.
My previous setup was: Creative zxr > Sennheiser 350 SC headset
Creative zxr > AKG K712 Pro w/mod mic
My current setup is: Modi 2 MB > Jotunheim > AKG K712 Pro ( went back and forth between the zxr and dac/amp and the
Schiit won but still have the zxr)
I'm looking for a significant upgrade from the 712's as the next step. I want to stay with open headphones and improve imaging and sound stage and increase overall performance. The HD 800s and Ether Flow are what I'm thinking could be the answer but I am unable to try them before I buy. I am also open to other suggestions.
