I actually started with British Bands. Used to own lots of cassettes tapes and cartridges which were my in-thing when I was young (my dad supported me) and progressed to vinyl when I was about 17+

Bay City Rollers
Badfinger
Budgies
Free
Faces
Genesis
Hollies
Thin Lizzy
Kinks
Matt the Hopple
Moody Blues
Manfred Mann/Earth Band
Nazareth
Peter Frampton
Status Quo
Slade
Sweet
T Rex
10CC
And the list goes on.....and there was this Dutch rock band Golden Earrring with that wonderful song Radar Love that we were so crazy or hype about during those days.

I see we've got most of the mainstream bands covered, so let's dig a little deeper.

Here's some of my favorite underplayed bands from the era of my first post:

Thanks! I knew something like this thread would elicit this postings. Got to check some of this stuff out asap!

Well...I've got goose bumps listening to Floyd's first album since the Division Bell. Sound quality is excellent so far as is the music. Definitely Floyd and more so than just a companion disk to The Division Bell thankfully.

After the longest post on page 1, here's my take on fave Rock albums, this time irrespective of the decade.

I don't know what's your criteria when deciding this or that album is on the top list. Tough task.

My list has a predominantly emotional factor. There's a story around each of them involving a person or a moment that get's... conjunct... with the album and it get's this special meaning. And it sticks! Timeless events.

I summurize a lot of conjunctions that keep working out, over and over... people look at photo albums the same way I look at records and artists. Let's roll...

1) The Rolling Stones - Let it Bleed
2) The Rolling Stones - Exile on Main Street
3) The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
4) The Rolling Stones - Tatto You

Wow how ironic, Just got my First Taste of Opeth about 3 days ago

That's the good thing in listening to music. It's never too late to get started!
