To any of you people who actually listen to speakers, will the Great March or Zholulu DAC's actually improve my audio sound quality in my set up (whose sound I really like) Pioneer PD-59 CD player connected to Denon 3801 A/V Receiver connected to Orb Mod 1 Speaker System. I play mainly remastered 60/70's rock & blues recordings. If so, which one would you recommend?
I should note, I do not listen on headphones so anything that's related to headphone audio would be irrelevant here. Or is there another DAC you'd recommend? Thanks

He probably doesn't realise how many people here actually own speakers.

Digital is digital, who cares how he'll use it. Hard to say if one of these DAC's would be better than your Pioneer CD player, you would have to decide that. Sounds to me based on this post of your's at the following link you like it a lot: http://forums.audioreview.com/showthread.php?p=145853

Between the Zhaolu and Great March DAC I tend to prefer the Zhaolu but I still find the Great March to be a great sounding DAC and with the USB input it's a heck of a bargain. The Zhaolu has the edge in resolution but the Great March is quite musical too.

I have heard the Great March - not heard the Zoo.

The Great March is probably the most neutral solid state player I have ever heard. Over in the HK, the GM is preferred over the Zoo due to its sweeter sound and its ability to air around the music.

You should really give it a try. I know that Pacific Valve has some great new DACs.

I wish there was more anecdotal reports on the Great March... if anyone else has heard and liked it, please chime in. I'm thinking seriously about picking up a DAC myself and the Zhaolu/Great March are under consideration in my mind.

Someone should try it on a 30 day - I know that I they do not have a re-stocking fee.

Also - they also did a swap for me once. I brought something, returned it on 30 day (which, by the way, I did not have any problems) and they shipped me something else free along with a refund for the difference.

I am also very interested in Great March to use with my DT880'06 and Headfive.
I only listen to headphones in the office and the GM seems ideal with its USB, coax and optical inputs. The price is right too!
The Zhaolu got a lot of praise in Headfive but its a bit too much to put on my office desk, it got no USB input and is ugly to boot.

There have not been a lot of info regarding Great March but from what i read so far is that it is of a darker nature, something that would synergize well with the DT880s light amd somewhat bass shy character?

Opinions on the Great March would be much appreciated!

Has anyone ever visted in the dealer in Hong Kong? I will be moving to the same district as the dealer (Kowloon, Hong Kong) in late August. I was wondering if they have some floor models for direct comparison.

It would be nice to compare the Zoo vs. GM vs. Lite before I commit to a purchase.
