I guess Im a member already, can't remember when I registered here. Anyway...

I'm not a headphone/audio geek (yet) but I just got me one of these new fancy "mp3" players. Way cool! Heard of em?

So the earplugs that came with this iriver stink, I bought some Sony earplugs model# MTM-71-EXL-BP-blah-blah-blah (whatever) and they blow.

So I pull out my Grado SR40's and they sound great!

Haven't heard any reviews on these yet, anybody familiar with em?

They got SR60 drivers in a Street style shell.
They're discontinued.
John Grado gave some away to happy New York headfiers at a meet once.

I've never heard them but i'd think they would resemble the SR60.

A search on SR40 brings up 5 pages of hits.

I own a pair and they are my computer headphones.
The sound is very very close to the SR60.
They were discontinued because they didn't sell!

I had a pair and loved them until the little wire which connects the drivers together broke. It was cheaper to buy SR60(than to send them back for repair) so I did. I think the SR60's are better built than the 40's. Watch that wire.
