Does anyone have picture of someone actually wearing grado sr225s. I am looking to get one and I want to see if it would be small enough to wear around with my portable.

They don't look that bad to just walk around in them. Problem is the big ass cable and the lack of any isolation.

Cable is taken care of with a cable turtle or any other alternative you choose. I used to wear SR225s in public playing out of my mp3 player. The only problem is the massive leakage

I bought mine for 'portable' use around the home but as Kevin says above, the main problems with outdoor use is the very long cable and leakage/intrusion.
I'm sure some here do wear theirs around town though.

They leak wayyy too much. Do remember that they are ear pad /phones, not curcumarural. My spelling sucks.

Just try it, it's not like YOU wear A900s on the skytrain everyday...

as far as leaking in outside sound, it really depends on what type of environment you plan to use them in.

I have thought of this meself. I for one like to be able to hear what's going on around me instead of being isolated from it. I see it as no difference than listening to speakers at low volumes like in you auto, etc.. I also do not plan on using them in high noise environments.

you could also shorten the length of the cable and re-terminate it if it was something that you wanted to use primarily for portable use.

I also have a couple of ideas of giving the Grado's a bit smaller profile. at some point I am gonna give this a whirl with me SR-80's first. then when I am able to upgrade above the SR-225's I will mod them too if I like it with the SR-80's.

If only they:

a) weren't white, and
b) didn't have that damn "i" in their name

.... I would actually give them a try for portable use only.

I'll beat you both in certainty because I KNOW there is a black version of the iGrado.
