This is interesting; there are two threads going on right now about this very same thing.

My MS-1s are giving me no problems at all. I wonder if it's something that has just started or if this an ongoing problem?

EDIT: I've had my cans for about two months.

Yeah mine do that to. is it possible to take the headband off by pulling those blacks caps off the metal posts and taking the headband off the drivers. That way each driver is independent and you can just let them untwist themselves and reinsert into the headband. Sorry if this sounds dumb but that is the best I can describe it.

It is a problem with the 'free swinging' cups. I always put them down the same way and make sure that I turn the cups the same way on both sides, but you do have to be very careful.

It could end up stressing the wires inside the cup and lead to a bad connection.

Ditto.

I guess that's more of a reason to get them recabled.

You know, putting a simple lock nut onto the black plastic that holds the earcups would stop this. It's just a strange design - especially when you're paying for the top of the range Grados.
