I did a reverse quarter mod on my original Grado SR60 pads however I found that the mesh covering the inner speakers was a little rough on my ears. So I improvised as best I could and I'm happy enough with the results to share them here.
TLDR: I covered the mesh with a lens cleaning cloth.
I assume the quarter mod has already been performed.
Materials:
Step 1:
Cut the cloth in half
Step 2:
Place over speaker and attach elastic (this took me quite a while...) [PIC]
Step 3:
Pull wrinkles out and carefully cut the excess cloth away. [PIC1] [PIC2]
Here I didn't quite cut close enough [PIC]
Step 4:
Place ear pad back on and enjoy. The final result, [PIC] [PIC]
My Thoughts:
I found that the small amount of fabric doesn't really do much to the sound of the original reverse quarter mod. I don't actually use an elastic but a small gasket from a used cartridge for my insulin pump.
