The Alessandro MS1 I order was backordered. Now I saw Jon Beilin's posts about HCM Audio having a sale. They have the Grado SR125 for sale for 109.95. So I was wondering if I should forget about the MS1 ($99.00 shipped fedex) and get the SR125 instead.

Are there major differences in the two? (from what I read, there isn't)

As a way to start off this discussion, I was under the impression that the MS1 was less colored.

But I've never heard either, or any grado at all, for that matter. My interest in this thread is purely academic (ie what to put on my wish list!)

I think someone has postulated that the MSPs have quality control issues. Their parts are not as carefully matched as Grado and hence the lower prices in general. I would stick with Grado as the 125s can be found online for $100 as well.

Does anyone have a URL or phone number for HMC Audio? (I did try HMCAudio.com to no avail).

Thanks, Nick
