I just picked up an MS1 from another member and to my surprise the cheap vinyl headband has some padding inside it??

Not senn-beyer like cushion... more Like a raised piece of soft plastic inside. It elps disperse the weight of the headphone. certainly more than just a piece of metal.

Anyone else have this?

My MS-1 was the same way, and the MS-2i also has a wider headband than the 325i! Guess Alessandro decided to improve upon the comfort issues also!

Nope; no padding at all on the ones I'd received less than two weeks ago from Alessandro, just a folded(or formed and fused, tube)of cheap vinyl.(ouch)

The metal strip is just as easily discernible from the inside as well as the out.

Mine neither (3 weeks old) I don't find mine uncomfortable though. I listen to them for hours laying on my bed of nails.

pictures would b nice... i hope my ms-1's are slightly padded but i doubt it sumhow. just have to wait and see.
