well. i own a pair of DT-990's.
and they are comfy.

right now i've got roastpuff's RS-2's to try out for a bit. and they sound amazing. i love how clean and realistic it makes acoustic guitars sound. and i like the sparkle.

but i have glasses. and the rs-2s hurt my ears cause they aren't circumaural.

so if i want the grado sound, what can i do/get to not have to hurt?

How heavy are your glasses? I wear glasses myself and can wear my cans for quite long periods. Perhaps you could' train' yourself to get used to it?

The glasses do bother me at time, but contacts work great

. Seriously I never tried the salad bowls with my RS1s. Maybe I should try it soon.

Yup; I see where the "salad bowl" name for the bagels is coming from!

Garret has the Grado virtual tour as part of his sig, and in it they call the GS1K prototype the "salad bowls" and now folks are taking that to mean the bagels are also the salad bowls.

...or so it seems.

If the part where your glasses sit over your ears are thick, you might want to change to a pair with thin frames. Lighter-weight glasses also help.

Another option is the Headphile C-Pads, but they change the sound. I prefer the RS-1 with stock bowl pads over C-Pads.

At work I lift my safety glasses so they rest on the top of the pads on my grados. I don't know how old his phones are but I have noticed that old bowls cause the phones to put more pressure on your ears. Maybe new bowls would put less pressure on your ears.Plus a little stretching of the headband should work too.I am lucky, my ears fit inside of the bowls with only part of my lobes sticking out.

edit: on the point of my safety glasses I also cut the tips off of them. I am not sure how a real pair glasses may work without the tips cut off.

I'm curious about the salad bowl bowls*heh heh*myself.

I find the regular bowls to be plenty comfortable once they've broken-in a bit, but where I do have a problem with them is when I'm trying to do much other than just sit there listening.

....which I do....a lot.

But; if I'm trying to type and look at the keys...yeah; even after all these years I still look at the darned keys

I find that the heavier MS2i want to slip a bit. The HD600, of course, don't.

So; I wonder if the bagels wouldn't help keep the MS2i from slipping around as much.

....if SQ doesn't suffer too much.

Probably not. Grado headbands don't clamp as much as Sennheiser's and that shows in the difference in their tendency to stay (or not) on listeners' head.
