Grado Signature HP100 SE

I’m surprised by the lack of video reviews. Where are DMS, Resolve and Joshua? Usually they are way ahead of the game.

I just got my HP100 SE today, and honestly, I can already tell these guys won’t be into them. But seriously, don’t base your opinion of the HP100 on what reviewers or even some people here say, you really need to try them in person before dropping that kind of cash. That’s exactly what I did this morning, and after just 15 minutes with them, I walked out of the store $4000 poorer (that’s the price here in Canada with taxes). They’re an amazing headphone and can compete with pretty much any high-end pair I’ve had, but they’re definitely not for everyone since they’re on the brighter side.

Congrats! Enjoy them. As for brightness, I feel that it really depends on your desktop rig. I actually do not find it all that bright. But I guess we all have different ideas of what that means. ;)

They won't be into them...because John doesn't give a carrot about their opinion!
Clear pragmatics!

Cheers!

I stopped following reviewers and just trust my own ears, and I think everyone should do the same. Grado really nailed it with the HP100 SE, this headphone can easily compete with all the kilobuck models from Focal, Hifiman, Audeze, and ZMF. But my advice? Try them out in person first.

Do you mean kilobuck cans like Clear or Utopia; or HEK or Susvara?

I'm curious to hear your impressions once you burn them in.

Thanks! I know they’re not overly bright except for a small peak in the lower treble, and honestly, that doesn’t bother me on my setup as long as I’m mindful of the volume. But at the same time, I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to someone looking for a smooth sound like some of the Sennheiser or ZMFs.

Well, GS1000 never been known for a good solid bass. It's one of the reasons why I steered away from statement series - simply because it doesn't fit my application. But HP100 might be a gamechanger, hopefully I can get it soon and call it an end game.
No comparing the bass quality and in my opinion the HP500 SE is the Best Bass to ever come out of the house of Grado.

Congratulations to all the current owners of this superb Groundbreaking Headphone.

Enjoy.

P.S. you can see the new thicker headband a bit in the photo, it works well.’ So
