Ok..So Ive just treated myself to a pair of shure E500 to go with my new imod and hornet and to be honest the E500 sounds great really great but after a short while 30-40 Min's i cant wait to take them out they seem a bit TooMuch there very full-on i know it sound mad but after 30 Min's i feel very uncomfortable in myself not relaxed....anyway the question I'm asking is Ive always used grados i can listen all night no problems .. so I'm looking at some high end grados !! would the RS1 be waisted on the imod & hornet comb...Thanks j

Tried different tips?
Plus, experiment with the way you put them in can give really different results too.
Since you just got these you should wait some weeks at least until you're familiar with how to put them in the way you like it, assuming you have no prior experience.

I have the exact combo, so I would say... no.

Honestly, the RS-1s are a great buy, they don't need an amp or a decent source to sound great but since you have both, then all the better.

Tinman, how many hours of burn in does your Hornet "M" have? If it does not have 400 the bass will fluctuate from way to much to "Where did it go?"

Also if this are your first IEM's it takes a while for your ears to get used to them, about 10 days to two weeks. As far as Grado RS-1 and the Hornet "M" yes it will sound good but the SR71 is better, for jazz. If rock stick with the Hornet. Good luck.

I, for one, can listen to my E500's for hours. If you start feeling anxious, try turning the volume down a notch and taking a deep breath.

Always listen at a volume that is "not too soft," breathe easy, and be happy.
