I'm not sure if you've noticed, but there's a set of MS1's on the FS forum right now going for 80 usd shipped, which sounds more like the price range you're looking for. I'd snap them up myself, but I'm a bit broke at the moment.

Yeah, it's an issue that some Grado users have reported having over time. It seems, though, that there are a variety of ways to fix it, even as simple as painting the rods with clear nail polish.

go with very good condition ms1, warranty is expired (headphones are over a year old) for 80 shipped and includes bowls
or go with brand new grado sr60i with bowls and warranty for 85.

ms1 with bowls is what i use and will be better than both 60s definitely. I've used both.

yes, i think so. I bought my ms1 used and I've had no problems thus far. Warranty is almost always going to be a concern if you buy used. So it's your decision if you're OK with it or not.
