Grado + NIN = Bad

As much as I love my SR60s and the Nails, I can't put the two together.

Because Trent's music is so bass-heavy, the infamous grattle is extremely pronounced. I can really hear the small vibrations while listening to songs like Closer or Perfect Drug.

Can anything be done about the grattle aside from manually opening up the headphones or sending them in for repairs (which I already did a while back after the right driver stopped working. The repair didn't fix the grattle though)?

The grattle is only considered normal in broken Grado headphones...it's not part of their sound signature.

Isn't the grattle usually a result of dust or hair in the chamber?

My understanding of the grattle is that it either could be because of a damaged driver or the hair/dust situatio you mention.

the times i've had the grattle it was caused by very small hairs caught on the driver. compressed air fixed the problem.
