I enjoy TTVJ flats with Grado drivers, but I prefer L-cush with Magnums. Magnums were designed with the L-cush in mind and it shows.

Thanked! Martin's cups came in today, the fit was quite snug so i just used a tad of wood glue to hold it in place
hopefully that will never happen, but if it does i thought a little heat and moisture will pop it right out.
Grado glues them into the RS wood cups so as long as your glue will react to a little heat...
Most don't mess with the RS and send them to Grado for re-cable or repair.
It would be interesting to know how Grado liberates RS drivers without damaging them.
Compared to my SR325i I always felt like the Magnums were a hint darker and a lot more neutral.
Make sure you try TTVJ flat pads if you want a shift toward bass for any Grados.

i commissioned a set from martin as well. chose cocobolo. how do you secure the drivers inside the cups? do you use felt tape like in the turbulent labs video? if so, does anyone have dimensions of the tape so i can buy some?
Martin's cups usually don't need any tape, but if you need some drop me a PM. I have a ton of it and will gladly mail you some, no charge.
ya, fleasbaby is right, the fit is pretty snug. I ended up using a tad of wood glue to hold the drivers in place. Apparently thats a no-no. as it makes my life harder in the future if i want to recable or w/e
