I've got a pair of MS-1's that are a few months old, and one ear cup is starting to lose it's tension, or grip, on the metal post. I'll set the size for my head, and after a little while of having them on, the one side has slid down the post a bit rather than gripping it tightly.

Any way to home-remedy this? I assume there's some kind of rubber inside the plastic housing that helps hold it's grip on the metal post, but I don't see a way to get inside and fix anything.

Anyone else have this problem, and if so, is it fixable? Thanks!

a home solution would be to apply more diameter to the rod where it disappears into the rod box. only on the section where the rod would be "grabbed" by the box, apply some clear nail polish, let it dry completely, and bingo, thicker rod=no more slipping! For a more elegant solution, Headphile has Rod Locks that apply the thumbscrews to the locks a la HP1000 cans.

Go to your local hardware store and get some small O-rings and slip them over the metal shaft to position the cans at the right spot.

Jahn and kramer5150,

Both excellent ideas. I think I'll try the O rings first since they don't involve altering anything. If those don't work the way I want, I'll try the nail polish idea.

Thanks!
