Grado HP-1s with Bowls or Flats.

just like to hear opinions on these two options. im probably gonna use both but would like to know what the owners think about the sound using both options.

yeah i figure that's the way to go, but sometimes people come in with a different perspective when it comes to flats and bowls. i really like the flats over the bowls with the RS-1s.

Well, that is not suprising, the RS-1's were designed with the flats

It was only later that the bowls were introduced. I myself prefer HP-1000's and RS-1's with flats over bowls.

i use bowls on mine. : / but the pads also don't come off so easy or not at all.

Although I agree that flats are better, I don't find there is as a dramatic difference between bowls and flats with HP-1000's as compared to other Grados. Still, the bass decreases enough to make me shy away from them.

While i havn't tried flats on my RS1s (the ones that were on when i got them were falling apart) i can't see how it can get better than with the bowls i'm using. I'm willing to be proved wrong, but all the threads i've read about flats make me think i'd prefer bowls.

Flats, as the design called for. Should have mad a poll,
NOS flats are the best, or new TTVJ flats..
