Does anyone know the original retail price of the Grado HF-1, and also, what is the impedance?

Yup, they were $200. Personally that's all I would pay.....but, that's me. I have seen them sell legitimately for $250 from time to time since then.

Wow, lol I thought they were $300. Someone offered to sell me his for $375. I'm glad I put it towards the rs-1 at the time instead.

The pricetag of HF-1's did not and does not necessarily put them in the same sonic league as the SR-225's or other $200 headphones. The wooden chamber, plastic housing, and slightly tweaked drivers led these limited edition cans to sound distinctive and unique; some would argue on par with RS-1's / 2's in certain sonic areas. Even discarding the fact that these phones were created at cost to Grado, there's no denying that the sound of HF-1's clearly transcends their once meager, affordable price tag.

Not the only one on that note. I remember considering selling everything I had at that time to get it. What a bad non-decision.
