The first of it's kind, hemp finds a new purpose in The Hemp Headphone. A brilliant, warm, and previse sound rolled into a Limited Edition Grado.

The team at Grado had to draw on inspiration and experience from past Limited Editions, taking what they learned from working with exotic woods like cocobolo to fine-tune the drivers to work in tandem with the wood. The highly compressed hemp creates a damping effect between its fibers. This produces a fuller sound, comprised of a noticeable low-end and a top-end that extends smoothly to its limits.

To be blunt, this is one of the best sounding Limited Editions they've built.

Hemp is fire resistant (somewhat).

A change in pads will change any headphone sound generally.There is definitely some advantages to go it with grados. For example, I highly prefer the RS1e sound with G cushion pads instead of the ones that come with it.
