I'd like to test (and probably buy) Grado headphones. The Grado website doesn't list distributors, nor have they answered email. Does anyone know how to get a list of distributors? Or does anyone know where to find them in the Los Angeles area?

I do know you can buy them online, but I'd like to hear them first.

Thank you!

Contact Todd (www.ttvj.com) and he will allow you to audition a "sample" set before you buy. Of course you will have to give him your cc info so that he is secure if you decide to run off with the sample pair.

And you will have to pay shipping for the sample pair + new pair.

You will find it next to impossible to find these headphones in a local store so choose wisely.

If you are going to return headphones after buying - at least be nice to todd and let him know that you are really interested in an audition so that you know what you want to buy.

Better to ask him to include all the headphones that interest you and pick the one that you like the best. Ship everything back to him and he will ship you a brand new pair.

This allows him to keep prices low and to save his fresh pieces for those who know what they want.

IME, Grado sucks with email, but can be reached via phone easily, and they are very polite and helpful.

Sorry I can't help with the LA stores though. I'd be curious to know myself.

First of all, allow me to welcome you to head-fi with the statutory greeting

"Welcome to Head-fi. Sorry about your wallet !!"

I lived in LA for about 6 months, and I heard of a few audio dealers who carry the Grado lineup. Our fellow head-fi member 'Jasper994' should chime in with his suggestions sooner or later, as he lives/lived near LA. Try this link about Audio dealers in the LA area. Call them and ask if they carry Grados. I know Ambrosia carried them a while ago.

If you want to do a more refined search, search the above link based upon your city. I bet you'll find something useful. Good luck.

about cambridge soundworks- im not sure if they carry any grado products IN-store. so you may not be able to audition them. they do sell some of the lower end models on their website. that's it.

Try "Ahead Stereo", on Beverly Blvd, or better yet try Try "Shelly's Audio" in Woodland Hills, they have the whole line available for auditioning.
