Hey guys.

I'm wondering which headphone set I should get.

SR60
SR80
SR225
MS-1

SR225 seem great, but I'm on a somewhat tight budget, is it worth $200?

Thanks!

MS-1 or SR80 will be my recommendation. Good quality budget head phones ..
SR225 is a great phone. If you wan to go all the way, SR225 is the best choice for your selection. however imo, the SR80 is just not far behind ...it depends on whether you wan to pay that much more for a less than marginal improvement. From a upgrade point of view.. SR80 to Sr225, not worth it..

Why have you posted 2 threads on pretty much the same topic.... Buy all of them and choose which you like. Then sell the rest, or just take our opinions and go for the MS-1.

I'll help you guys out...

"CLOSEOUT OF ALL 2008 MODELS/

SR 125
SR 225
SR 325
ALSO HAVE SR 60 AND 80'S

SOUNDS UNIQUE 408 287-3002"

They have the SR225 for $140 new, non-i. They're based in San Jose, so you determine if you pay taxes. Everyone pays shipping. They had 2 left of the 225's as of early today when I called.

225s. They are the best of the plastic grados IMO and the best value in the line. If you can get them for less than retail, that is just icing.

SR60 will give you most of the SQ of the SR225. If you do go with the 225, you won't have to worry about the 60's not being good enough. If you want a bit different of a flavor, you could go with the MS-1.
The best option is to go to a meet, buy used, audition in a store, or buy from a place with returns so you can hear for yourself.
Also, I don't like Grados so take my words with a bit of salt.

I don't think there's much choice at all. Obviously if I had 700$ to blow on cans, I'd go with the RS-1i. If I had a grand, I'd get the GS1000.

For 200$, the SR225 will be the best you can get, and it's worth it. I've not heard the MS-1i, but I have spent time with the SR60 and SR80 and this is better. Kinda obvious though - same manufacturer, same product line, costlier...

Many times, more expensive isn't better. It's just more expensive.
