Greetings,

I'm looking for some suggestions on an IEM that would have similar sound characteristics to a pair of Grado SR60's. My price limit is around $120 USD, but that can possibly be squeezed up somewhat, although I do have to factor in shipping to New Zealand.

From my own reading, the Phonak PFE's seem about right, but they are at the upper ends of what I want to spend.

If it's of any use, they will be un-amped (at this stage) and being used with either a 3rd gen iPod nano or a Cowon D2. Musical styles are varied, primarily 70's funk/soul/jazz, 60's rock and old school hip-hop.

Any recommendations (especially from other Grado users) would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

The Nuforce NE-7M has a crisper treble than the Grado, a bit deeper bass (without being boomy at all), and a bit less mids, but I have no problems switching from my MS1 (= Grado SR125) to the NE-7M -- they sound close enough to satisfy me, and different enough to interest me!
