Grado cord length

Not really, I only use my MSPros at home and theres no such thing as a cord that is too long when I'm listening to bliss and happen to suddenly have a craving for marmite which is in my kitchen several meters away...

It's definitely too long for portable use. And I have trouble reaching my bed from my stereo set up with it at home, so yes I'd say it's too short for home use. Maybe it's so they can make some money on extension cables

HI: I have no problem with the cord. when I use my RS-1 I am right beside my Cd deck and amp. When I use my SR-225 for portable I just put the cord in my lap or beside me. I think the cord is of good quality and very durable.

the Grado cable is definetly 1 meter too short for home listening. (or 1 meter too long for portable use). heck, it's too short for computer listening too (at least for any computer that's on the floor).

so how come someone hasn't done a hack job on it? Yeah, I'm thinking of replacing the cable. But putting a 1/8" mini-plug on it just makes no sense. (which is what I would have to do if I want to use it with the computer).

dear god i tried using my SR80's in portable conditions, but this cord is just too heavy...if the cord was thinner, i think it might've been workable but as it is, there's no way these are ever leavin the house again

the problem with the grado connector is that the rubber ring makes it really hard to plug this thing into the control pod (it fits...but it feels like it's gonna pop out at any minute)

D-EJ915, el-Diablo007,

maybe I'll just remove the Grado cable and install the K401 or K501 cable. It's long enough, it's thin enough, and the mini plug is nice and sleek.

If I had a portable, chances are I'd cut the cable down to 1 meter.

edit:

dang. i just remembered that the K401/K501 cable is a 3 conductor cable. That leaves the DT931 cable to try out.

ah, heck. maybe I'm make a magnetic oxide copper coated 20 awg cable for the Grado.

Well, I think it'd be too long for portable listening, except that I don't take mine portably.. The Grado's are just, IMHO, not mobile 'phones.. They're too big and bulky (again, IMHO). But at home, I've got my HP-2's hooked through a 15 foot extension, which is perfect to move between one end of my apartment to the other.

Yes, I -- yes, I think it's not really an ideal length either way. It's too long for portable use and I've just..I knocked my amp off the desk like three times in a row, LOL.

So it's not really long enough to move around with at home either. Maybe I should look into one of those extension cord thingies...
