Which do you perfer for rock/dynamics/hit/Bass/impact/overall experience. But most importantly livelyness and impact. Please vote and then reply with the reason you chose the one you did. It would be ideal if you have heard both cans

Kind of off topic, but I really like the looks of the flatter Grados. I got the 225s partly because it was flat like all the other grados but had the silver grilles... (of course, the sound was the main issue!) I would have gotten the 325s only if wasn't for the elongated chamber... makes them so much less portable (so much for "putting them flat in the briefcase," as headroom says about the grados) and attractive looking!

And although I haven't heard the 325 myself, from what I read I don't think the extra ~$100 difference is worth it. More of a novelty issue of having shiny aluminum cans, I think.

(of course, there are sonic benefits too!)

had to say that to prevent a war against me. haha. aaaah i need to go to sleep before i post more useless posts.

I don t agree with Headroom.I have the 225 for 5 years now they are quite good but they don t have enough bass and they are not so detailed.325 are definitely the “King Of Rock” IMO.More bass slam more detail more “wow” factor. maybe they are more <raw>sounding and I mean that in a good way (raw like the sound of Kirk Hammet’s guitar in Master Of Puppets

)They also look and feel much much better(looking at the photos is one thing but having both of them together is another)

I have owned both. I found the 225's easier to listen to for longer periods of time. The 325's are heavier, more bulky and less enjoyable, seemingly artificial sounding to me.
Possibly the aluminum chamber introduces some kind of coloration.
Anyway, for what it's worth, I have Sennheiser HD600's now, but if I ever went back to Grado, it would be to the SR225.
