Grace M902 Balanced Output Upgrade

Thanks CD44hi -- I did read this thread at the time and my search skills failed me this time. But unless I'm mistaken, no one on the thread you mentioned actually listened to the Grace with the balanced out upgrade. I'll probably do this at some point and start a new thread...

its fake balanced output (not to mention DAC1 and DA10 that use the same principles to simulate bal out from unbal signal with splitter and buffer). Real balance output should be something like RPX-100, separated amplifier and power supply. either way, its still better than using the connectors.

If you follow the link it says the circuit is like the m904. I checked the specs and it says the output impedence is 300 ohm, this is reall far too high to run even sens from. The DAC1 has roughly 50 ohm (depending on gain setting) balanced outputs and there are known issues with frequency response changes when using them. (Many people like the sound, but it isn't flat.) The 300 ohn outputs on the m901 will have big response changes with the vast majority oh headphones, but that doesn't mean you will hate the sound though. 300 ohm is a good figure for driving an amp though, which is the desiners intent.
