GR07 MK2 cable starting to fail

IMO you should just buy new ones. Recabling is likely going to cost you more than $100 including round shipping and new cable.

Yeah, but how long until they break again? I want a permanent fix.

Hi,

This member once had their GR07 recabled.

I can't remember where though a quick PM to the member should get some answers.

I'm interested if there is any 'permanent fix' for this as well. I really can't find myself buying another GR07 after mine broke just after a year even with light home use. I'm wondering if anyone tried if it was feasible to incorporate hardwired replaceable connectors on the body without changing the sound signature?

Just got a reply from BTG.
I can work on the GR-07's no problem. I could actually modify them to accept removable cables as well: http://btg-audio.com/webstore.htm#ecwid:category=2609209&mode=product&product=11546437

Let me know what type of cable you'd like installed on the headphones or if you want the mod done. Do note you'll need a cable after the mod is completed. I sell cables for around $100, but any westone 2-pin styled cable will work!

So I'll be sending mine in soon.
