I have been entertaining the idea of equipping my laptop with GPS. About the only names I am familiar with in the GPS world are Garmin and Magellan. I noticed while doing research that there a few other brands out there.

Do any of you knowledgeable guys and gals use GPS on your laptop? What brand do you prefer? Is there anything that I need to be aware of when buying GPS units?

Is there a good source to research and get reviews on GPS equipment and software for a laptop?

Good luck!

I have a copy of M$ Streets and maps. I wonder if the software is different in the GPS edition. I have seen GPS antennas for around $60. I wonder if the antennas would work with Streets and Trips?

THanks for the links.

One is a map software, the other one is a GPS software. BE VERY careful not to waste your money an on antenna unless you are ABSOLUTELY sure that you can use Streets as GPS. If you have a pocket pc, Pharos does wonders.

I use streets and an inexpensive USB antenna for traveling. I don't know about a GPS edition, but it worked fine with Streets&Trips1998 and Streets&Trips2005.
