GoVibe - petite or Magnum? Or...?

The bitrate usually means little, basically you got what you paid for.

"pure direct" is probably marketing gimmick. Is it a dual RCA? If so it is probably the amp passing out unprocessed analogue input signal. At best, it doesn't pollute the signal. So no, you can't "purify" a signal.

That is odd; I thought that is the sole purpose of a DAC. Do you mean that my amp, given this "pure direct" feature has any effect, cannot "purify" (sounds like alchemy) the crappy laptop signal or do you mean that, generally, a signal cannot be purified? That would be too bad, cause I am looking for the purest, most divine, ethereal sound

DAC contained within a PC/laptop casing can have many RF interference by whatever circuits that are in there. When DAC is moved outside of the box, one might argue that the resulting analogue signal is "purer" as there are less RF interference. And a polluted analogue signal can not be purified by any means. "Pure direct" in English would probably mean "unprocessed output" I guess.

tohni, I think you would be plenty satisfied with a Digital to Analog Converter that is rated at 16bit 44.1khz. Buy something to try and if you don't like it you can always sell it in this forum. I use the Predator, and it's DAC is only 16bit/44.1 or 48khz, and it sounds pretty good. Petite, with Ti BB chip should be the same, just different amp. Also, the 0202 or 0404 is pretty cheap, I got 0404 for only 99USD. Also consider the iBasso amp/dac combo as it's small and sounds good.

When I am using PETITE from out of my Laptop>DAC I never push the volume higher than 9.30. I even settle volume on laptop bit lower, cos its overpowered PETITE, when you use some higher volume level. Saying that, I do believe that K501 or K701 wouldn't have any issues with Petite. I am using Petite from out of LOD as well and the power that comes out of iAudio is more than enough to drive some big boys to, imo. Another thing is synergy. Unfortunately I am not using any high impedance phones, but sooner or later I will try it, so I can share more specifically.
